Insurance case of maternity.

In the case of pregnancy of self-employed women, social insurance benefits are provided under the insurance case of maternity.

This insured event includes pregnancy, childbirth and the resulting consequences. The insured event of maternity occurs at the beginning of the eighth week before the expected delivery (determined by the gynaecologist treating the child). If the birth takes place before this date, the insured event occurs at the time of the birth.

In the period before and after the birth, you are entitled to medical benefits in kind. You are also entitled to free nursing care in a hospital in Austria for up to ten days after the birth.
